Star Struck
I had the privilege to meet the crew of the upcoming film Greencastle.
As I walked into the home of the creator and main character, I couldn’t help but feel anxious and giddy. I looked at him standing in front of me in stocking feet. I began to look around as he prepared a seat at his kitchen table for me and a co-worker of mine, and there was his kid’s artwork, shoes by the door, plants in the kitchen, and while his home was very tidy, it was normal. This calmed the anxiety, but raised the giddy part.
After welcoming us, he and Jason had some tech talk, where I am completely lost so I just smile and nod. Then he pulled up the film, and started it for us to watch. Now, in my head I’m thinking “WOW! This is so cool, I get to see this before anyone else!” I start to dance, then quickly remember my company and decide to save it for later. I look over at our host, and he has the same excited look that we do. Except he is watching us watching his movie. He was watching our reactions, smiles, laughs, confusion, sad times. Then when we were really getting into it, he turned it off. I just wanted to watch more, he had me hooked.
We did get to watch several more tid bits but not the whole thing. They were all so refreshingly humble, crazy passionate, and so eager to talk about their baby, the upcoming film, Greencastle.
It was absolutely awesome to meet them, talk with them, and get in the loop about something that hasn’t been released yet. They are amazing people, the film (from what I personally saw) is going to be great, and I recommend checking it out for yourself. Here is the trailer if you want to check it out.
