Since I first started at the station in October, everyone has been talking about the Christmas party. So, month by month my anticipation has been building and the day finally came.
I walked in to the office, slightly more dressy than normal and went to my desk. As I’m doing my daily tasks, I see people hurriedly walking past my office carrying various Christmas items and they all have that “the countdown is on” look on their face. Wrapping Christmas presents, making name cards, and decorating seemed to be the only thing going to be accomplished at the station that day, so I of course keep peeking up from my computer to see what everyone else is doing. Paper is flying everywhere, people are fighting with tape and a lady is tripping because garland is wrapped up her body and around her feet. And me, I get to sit back and giggle to myself.
Work ends, and we all begin to arrive at the restaurant Tari’s. Which had been beautifully decorated with what seemed like a million ornaments hanging from the ceiling.
We had appetizers, dinner (amazing) and drinks, all the while laughing and having a ton of fun.
Then it came time for presents. The general manager, had arranged for The GRINCH to come in full costume to try to steal our Christmas.
The kids as well as the adults all loved it! Grinchy handed out gifts and cards and went on his merry way.
It was fun to really get to know the people I work with, and now I have some great memories, that I get to be a part of. Now I know why everyone looks forward to the stations Christmas party all year long.
