Surrounded by fake snow, fake trees, fake cookies, and best of all those warm fake Christmas moments, all breed fake Christmas cheer.
I look around and it LOOKS like we are in a Christmas Winter Wonderland, however that Christmas spirit must not be following down to the heart of those around us. Despite our best efforts to help several charities this Christmas, people are not responding. We have only had donations from inside the station. Places won’t even let us set a donation box at their location, even if we decorate it for them, bring it to them, maintain the box, AND pick it up.
Ok, so you won’t donate to those in need, or even set a box inside your store, but do you have to be so mean. yesterday, I saw a woman kick an elderly woman in the ankle (yes, I stepped in and said something, then reported it), because she apparently was walking too slow down the aisle of Target. Shame, shame.
If that is not bad enough, this morning I was talking to the director of the Toys for Tots in our area. He told me that they must have people sign waivers now when they sign up to receive toys because they have been sued several times. Most recently because someone’s kid bit one of the toys they received and it made the their mouth bleed.
Hoping I have enough holiday spirit to be contagious, but maybe it really is all just fake.
Nah, it exists out there somewhere. That’s just the fake cookies making you doubt. Get yourself a real cookie and you’ll totally feel the holiday spirit
